How did they manage all those years in Ulster, just using rubber bullets. This is the thin end of the wedge, it'll be armed police guarding strikers next. We're all in this together.

I'd like to think if I was trying to protect my property from a mob throwing petrol bombs or being hell bent on stealing from me and wrecking te place that the very least a police officer coud do was shoot te *******s. I said so at the time too IIRC.Mon te armed police.

Disagree - shooting should be reserved for strikers only.

And litterbugs.

And folk who stop suddenly in busy streets/shopping centres or stand in the middle of the walkway chatting to their pal. I'll do time if some old dear gets in my way again.

Both should be whipped by birches. Like they probably do in the Isle of Man.

Save the armed police to shoot dog owners who allow their dogs to foul pavements, parks etc and don't clear up after them.

Seriously, this is nonsense. It will however allow the government to bring in strict measures without seeming too strict in comparison with this suggestion.

No. The less guns available on the street the better, especially in confused and uncertain conditions of a riot.
