If its half as good as the last one it should be worth watching. The rape scene made for some very uncomfortable viewing.

Might have something to do with them getting pumped by Republic of Ireland, Netherlands and Russia in Euro 88 and going home with no points. I've set my Sky+. Now I am looking forward to watching it. :aok:

Well I thought the producers may have included the summer of 88 and had scenes of England fans destroying their neighbourhoods and setting fire to their England shirts but they have conveniently airbrushed that season and gone straight to Christmas. Might not watch it now.

Just caught the presenter mentioning that in 88, unemployment was high, public sector workers were striking, and there was a war in Afghanistan. No change there then ! :greengrin

:greengrin You can bet your last penny that if it was 1966 and not 1988 they would.

Never watched it last night but I thought the first in the series last time was disappointing as well but it got better and better until the outstanding end to it so I wouldn't go writing it off just yet.

Is the second part tonight or is it next week?

The next part is on tonight. I loved last night's episode. Woody with hair, and the karaoke was a hoot. Remember this is only a Christmas special in three parts, This is England 90 which covers the rave scene is still to come. I can't wait ! :greengrin

I thought it was pretty good also. The guy who plays Woody is a good actor and enjoy watching him in Misfits.

Have to disagree. I thought the scene in the prison was a stunner. Superb acting from both.

Just watched them tonight, class, absolute class!

Wasn't in this series much so can't mind his carachters name but the scouse guy in jail is absolutely phenomenal imo!

Also think the dad in it is probably the best 'bad guy' I've seen, really gets u feeling he was a right horrible **** without looking like a typical bad guy if that makes sense

Totally agree. The guy in jail plays Al Capone in Boardwalk Empire as well, and he's cracking in that too.

Loved This is England, very good bit of drama.:agree:

Should be interesting...

The last time I saw him on the show he was a bit tipsy and (if my memory serves me right) he went behind the sofa pretending to do a number 2 on a Man Utd shirt :cb
