That's actually the rugby ground - the football club play down the road at Borough Park. And both are the only grounds in rugby league division two and Conference North that I've not been to!

I'm somewhere around the 110 mark at the last count including non-league, but I suppose I'm a bit of a cheat location wise, plus the majority of them have been watching either Bolton or Leigh RMI and a few neutral ones.

Out of the league clubs;
Aston Villa
Blackburn
Bolton (old and new)
Chelsea
Fulham (old and new...sort of)
Liverpool
Man City
Man Utd
Wigan
Blackpool
Doncaster (old and new)
Hull City (old and new)

Oldham
Rochdale

Just for a bit fun.

Myself just the four.

Old Trafford
Stramford Bridge
Villa Park
Upton Park

I have been to those four, I lived in Manchester when I first moved South and my first boss's brother played for United & we were good mates, so I went quite often, including the "friendly" against rankers in March 74 [there was a pitch invasion and battles all over the place, score was 3-2 to the huns.

Villa Park, Scotland v Holland EURO 96,

Stamford Bridge, only once [V Sheffield Wednesday, Mickey Droy & Clive Walker days] this is despite living in London for more than three decades.

Upton Park, a number of times, I lived by Vicky Park in Bethnal Green for a lot of years and they were the local team.

plus

Highbury, countless times over the years, it is the two bruv-in-laws team, I'd go to see the opponents usually, saw them play Tic twice in testimonials in the 80's, Nelson & Rice I think it was.

Elland Road 1973, V Hibs, Selhurst, Palace V Hibs, Feb 78, Vicarage Lane, Watford V Hibs 1990, The Den, Millwall V Hibs 1990, Anfield, Liverpool V Hibs 1970 +75.

Other Scottish clubs I saw down South were Aberdeen at Ipswich [1-1] & Aldershot [0-4], Spurs V Rankers [1-1], Everton V Hearts [0-1 Texaco Cup].

I played at Boundary Park, watched Rodney Marsh & Dennis Law play for City at Maine Road.

Worst ground Plough Lane, Wimbledon V West Ham.

Old Wembley, Scotland's games since 1975's 1-5, [Arthur Duncan was Scotland's best player & he was taken off & replaced with Tommy Hutchison] + Ipswich's 1978 FA Cup win against Arsenal + concerts.

I haven't been to a game at the new Wembley, but went to the emergency planning meetings there, prior to the stadium opening & a couple of weeks ago I was shown around the Olympic Stadium & site.

Highbury (once under the old clock to watch Liverpool and again in the home end to watch Forest beat Arsenal in the cup - I think Brian Rice might have scored for NF)
Selhurst (to see Crystal Palace)
Selhurst (again, when Charlton ground-shared with Palace)
Upton Park (bit scary...)
Wimbledon's old place (a bit like Brockville, but without as much class...)
Stamford Bridge (old ground, even scarier clientle than WHU - especially when you are in the away end! Watching Liverpool again, Ian Rush's last game before heading to Italy - game finished 3-3 if I remember)

...and finally Esther

Sutton Utd's ground (cup tie against Middlesbrough I think - a friend's flatmate played for Sutton!)

Sorry but have to ask: which Scunny ground? Old yin "The Old Showground" or noo yin "Glanford Park" post 1988? and the other obvious question...why?

My list:

Old Showground
Glanford Park
Bootham Crescent
Blundell PArk
Sincil Bank
Recreation Ground
Millmoor
Elland Road
Turf Moor
Oakwell
Boothferry Park
McCain Stadium
Brunton Park
Gresty Road
Leeds Road
Spotland

Edgely Park
Bramall Lane
Hillsborough

and Wembley (the old yin)

Just realised how much of my football growing up was 1980s Division 4 mostly North of England... then I moved here in 92 and converted to the green n white. Only thing that I'm gutted about is I can't wear a Scunny shirt here......claret and blue has always looked a wee bit too Jambo-esque!

It was Glanford Park. And thinking about it now, it is on eof the very few English games that I cant immediately recall who they were playing - possibly Bristol City.

It was I'm sad to see my least favourite ground, atmosphere and experience at a game. The fans were utterly, utterly horrible, and I moved a few times to get away from a specific arse behind me to find him replaced by some other fud elsewhere in the the terracing behind the goal. Bloody awful. The best was Walsall before they made the stand behind the goal all seater - brilliant atmosphere at a FA cup replay against Bradford, wearing a Hibs bunnet. Mental.

As to why - I travel a lot in my work, and if its a choice between yet another night in a Premier Inn/Travelodge/Holiday Inn or a game on anywhere within 50 odd miles give me the Johnstone Paint Trophy 2nd round 2nd leg anytime. I once drove 45 miles to see Accrington play Barnet and it was postponed 20 mins before kick off due to torrential rain. That was a serious low moment.

Fair comment on Scunny and good reason for so many grounds. If I had to travel I'd probably do the same.

Old Showground was better atmosphere without a doubt but the fact you can still stand behind the goal, despite all the ***** there, has to be a point in Glanford Park's favour and can still generate a good atmosphere (same problem as Hibs tho'... poor football is hard to get excited about). Was down seeing my folks a couple of years ago at Christmas and we were playing West Brom, took my wife along and all we could get were terrace tickets so I warned her it could be a bit different to sitting in the East at ER on the odd occasion she comes with me (100% win record for hibs btw!) - I knew I'd picked a good 'un when the crowd swayed and I lost her only to see her a few feet in front, arm in the air singing "the referees a winker" along wi the rest! Same match, the ref got too close to the terracing and was pelted with snow/iceballs.... deserved it tho, the biased, cheating, son of birmingham!
Also, in Glanford Park's defence I've never had a better pasty till I visited East End Park.
Some of my best (and scariest) grounds at that time were Elland Road in the cup and Grimsby/Lincoln/Donny for derbies.

Worst memory, sitting on the terrace at Rotherham crying having just watched us become the first team ever to go out the FA cup on penalties - first season they brought the "only one replay" rule in.

Ahhh good (and bad) times, taught me how hard and unrewarding football is. Probably gave me the grounding to survive becoming a hibee

Knowsley road( not technically football stadiums)

St. Helens Town FC used to share Knowsley Road so you can have that one.

New stadium looks proper smart there.

Fair few of those mentioned, but one I've been to but not seen anyone mention yet....

Vague memories of the pre-season where we did Millwall and Watford going to the other ground on that tour - was it Telford United? (it was somewhere close if not). All I recall was the Hibs casual element wading into a guy on the far side then legging it over the wall and out of the ground plus being close enough to the pitch to hear pretty well every comment shouted between our players....they didn't like each other much.

Hmmmph. Turns out I now only "have" 38 of the current English football league grounds on my list. Didn't realise quite so many had been knocked down or been relegated! There's quite a few non-league trips in there too. Most have been visited with the Posh - it helps to accumulate grounds when your team flies up and down the leagues all the time and plays in the early rounds of the FA Cup!
