Following from the goals thread what do you make as your best ever game?

Id have to say Liverpool-Everton the 4-4 draw at Goodison in the early 90s. Absolutely superb game. Whats yours?

Saw it on the telly (black and white) if that counts.

Scotland beating the then world champions England on their own patch 3-2 in 1967.

This is a bit of a vague recollection, but, i seem to recall a Simod Cup game live on Sky not long after they started, i think it was 6-5 for Preston v Newcastle.
Also, 5 0 for Liverpool v Forest in 87-88, one of the greatest footballing displays i've ever seen!

Turns out that the first game was a Zenith Data Systems Cup game in Oct '91 between Tranmere and Newcastle with Tranmere going through on pens! Sounds like a corker. Would have been the good old days at Newcastle with Micky Quinn up front. Ossie Ardiles was the manager, he always set his team up to attack and leak goals.

Dundee Utd v Motherwell Scottish Cup final. On TV

Scotland V France 2 - 0 game .. brilliant and I was at that one.

Seville v Espanyol UEFA cup final at Hampden 2007. On TV

Only because with minutes to the end of extra time and Espanyol 2 - 1 down the TV showed an auld guy at the Espanyol end in tears coz he had probably spent the whole of his life supporting a team in the constant shadow of Barcelona and could see their ( and his ) one chance to overshadow them going down the pan.

Looking at that guy I could see myself in a few years time watching Hibs in a Scottish Cup final and realising that we werent going to win and thinking I would probably feel the same. So when Espanyol equalised I went mental jumping round the living room, scared the cat, scared my partner and nearly did myself an injury. Seville won on pens AET. Such is life.

Hearts 3 Celtic 3 Scottish Cup tie 1966 . Stood with my brother in a crowd of just under 47000. Crushing at the Gorgie end resulted in a pitch invasion which meant some fans watched the game from the trackside. Great game with Johnny Hamilton scoring a late equaliser for Hearts.

Three Scotland games come to mind for me.

Scotland v Italy, Hampden Park 1965. World Cup qualifier 1-0 Scotland. Last minute goal, only slight embarrassment was that I found myself cheering a Rangers player ( John Greig) who scored it. 100,000+ crowd, some atmosphere.

Scotland v Czechoslovakia Hampden Park 1974 World Cup qualifier. Scotland won 2 -1. Morgan crosses, Joe Jordan heads in the winner. Huge crowd again. What an atmosphere.

England v Scotland Wembley 1977. Scotland won 2-1. McQueen and Dalglish with the goals. Still got a bit of Wembley turf (allegedly) in my back garden.

Three of the best non Hibs games I ever saw.
