That seas on started so well 2-1 against Celtic and goals being scored from half way line in the first few games, let's hope for agood result tonight the players need to show they are good enough to play at our great club.

I seem to remember playing celtic in a semi final at Ibrox on a Friday night?

Not saying it was the last time but can any stato confirm if that was in fact the case? I also vaguely remember John Collins missing a pen into Jim Leighton?

We played on a Friday night sometime in the 90's. Away to Killie and Yogi made his debut as a player.
Think we lost 4-2?

We played on a Friday night v tonights opponents around December/January 1994/5? 0-0 draw.

Remember the Friday semi-final v Celtic though can't remember if that was the first game (0-0 draw) or the replay (3-1 loss).

Also yes, remember the Friday game away to Killie. Lost 4-2. Bjarnie Laursen scored for us with maybe Kevin Harper or Andy Dow getting the other. Darren Jackson missed a pen that night. Reckon that was October/November 1996-ish.

Don't think it was Yogi's debut. Was that not a 0-0 at derby at the PBS? Sure he got sent off.

Andy Walker missed the pen :greengrin

:agree:

And JC curled in a beauty of a free kick in the replay...

I was at that 4-2 game in Kilmarnock back in the 90s, quite a few cracking goals scored that night IIRC.

And yes, that 2-1 v Celtic was a Sunday, no doubt about it.

Was that the game when Andy Dow scored an absolute cracker? Curled in from 20 yards.

Please get your facts right before posting :cb

(apologies for over-use of this smiley)

Although I do remember being unfortunate enough to be dragged along to a Hearts V St Mirren game in the 80's by my Yamfather and there was exactly 312,391 at the game.

Check it up if you don't believe me... :cb

On a more serious note.. How many matches have Motherwell had called off in the last few years? Burst water pipes, undersoil heating not switched on, sandcastles on the pitch etc

Pretty poor in this day and age

My under 9's have had less matches called off in that time

This is, I think, a more or less complete list of Friday night competitive games Hibs have played since the second world war:

1 1 1954 Scottish League H Heart of Midlothian L 1 2 48000
18 4 1958 Scottish League H East Fife L 0 1 10000
1 1 1960 Scottish League H Heart of Midlothian L 1 5 54000
22 4 1960 Scottish League A Ayr United L 1 2 5000
24 4 1964 Scottish League A Dundee United D 1 1 3278
1 1 1965 Scottish League A Heart of Midlothian W 1 0 36297
23 4 1965 Scottish League A Partick Thistle L 2 4 1989
1 1 1971 Scottish League A Heart of Midlothian D 0 0 27715
24 12 1976 Scottish League H Ayr United W 1 0 3875
13 1 1995 Scottish League A Motherwell D 0 0 6724
7 4 1995 Scottish Cup N Celtic D 0 0 40950
1 11 1996 Scottish League A Kilmarnock L 2 4 10872

Prior to 76, games were played on Christmas Day when it fell on a Saturday - 71 was the last time we played on Christmas Day and the next time round we moved the fixture to the Friday. I think I'm right in saying that most the April fixtures were to avoid a clash with the Scottish Cup Final.
