Is it really fair that the co-hosts are in Pot 1 when they're the two lowest-ranked sides in the tournament?

IMO hosts should be in whichever pot they would be in if they weren't hosting; they've already had the benefit of not having to qualify and have home advantage to boot.

In fact Poland Ireland and England could cause riots so I'm up for that :greengrin

Yes, because it gives the best chance of keeping national interest in the Tourny if they qualify. :agree:

Yes, because it gives the best chance of keeping national interest in the Tourny if they qualify.

National interest is hardly relevant to the question of fairness. Germany and Italy would have a right to feel aggrieved at potentially facing Spain or Holland whilst two weaker nations enjoy an easier draw.

Should UEFA go the whole hog and give the hosts dubious refereeing decisions for the same reason, like FIFA did in '34 and '02?

It might not be completely fair but everyone knew the rules, it's already unfair to see the playoffs to ensure the big countries make it. Let the small ones have there fun, they are hosting after all.

Hoping Scotland ever qualify for finals is becoming almost as tiresome as the Scottish Cup for hibs......not quite, but getting there - as time goes on, it seems less and less likely.

and for the next world cup, we have a negative twonk in charge, so where's the 2016 Euros' ?....our next chance to qualify...

Decent draw for England. Their base is in the Ukraine so it'll help for their travelling. It'll depend on which France turn up.

Horrible draw for the Republic.

Edit: My bad, England are basing themselves in Poland so not so good for them then. Shame.

I honestly dont think the travelling will effect the teams much, first class air travel with all the mod cons

You're probably right but I'm sure they would've preferred to have done without a 2 hour flight to get to each game and back. As has been said, it'll be a ready made excuse for them.

Yep, I would agree with that. We're a limited side, hard to beat for sure, and we're certainly not going to win the thing. But, it's just great to be there, we're the country with the smallest population and we're going to have one hell of a party there. Can't wait!

You really are the Scottish cringe personified.

It's like the Yam claim about us being the Wee Team because we are allegedly obsessed with them. Except in the case of your obsessive anti-Englishness its true.

Have fun making your t-shirt.

Going by sky sport news En gland has already qualified because it seems Sweden and France don’t pose much of a challenge.

When are these Muppets going to learn- every tournament they qualify for the "media" have them in the final before a ball is kicked?

As some have said "ABE" sounds about right.
