Doing an application for an internship and one of the questions is if you can invite three people (including deceased) to dinner who would they be?

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Yes plenty, this is a question I have been asked numerous times over the years on various courses. However there is little point in giving you ideas of who to name as it really should come from you. Think about people past or present who have: inspired you/you admire/would love to meet/your hero/can be anybody from politician/musician/writer/sportsman/famous person in history/inventor/activist....................I'm sure you have plenty!

Who set the application form, David Brent?

Always avoid Mandela. Everyone says him. Nice guy, inspirational etc, but he'll no be able to make it cos he's at everyone else's fantasy dinner.

Would definitely invite Bob Marley for the after dinner smoko (don't put that).

I hate these sort of questions in interviews becausea) whats the relevance? b) how many people answer it honestly? c) you always kick yourself when you think of a better answer you could have given after the interview is concluded. With that said I would definitely have Bil Clinton as one of your guests, seriously charismatic fellow, bright, articulate, gives a great interview. Would be great to pick his brain on a host of issues such as the Irish peace process, the Middle East peace process, the war on terror, global warming, this financial depression, education, anything that pertains to his time in the White House, the list goes on. Seriously bright guy whose opinions would be well worth listening to.

That's just loving weird, wanting to eat your dinner with dead people sitting beside you. So for that reason, Gordon Smith's out.

Burst out laughing when I read that. :greengrin

As for the bit in bold, there's a sentence you don't read every day.

Interesting choice and I do agree with you in many ways. However, I suppose it depends what people would read into your answers. If you're happy to socialise with a philanderer and liar, do you consider these acceptable characteristics?

The truth is, you could tie yourself in knots considering the permutations of your answers. Best just to go with three smoking hot chicks.

Tell the truth!

You'd invite 3 stunning birds, you'd keep the wine flowing and see what happened.

True story - I was once asked years ago what my ideal job would be. I said, I'd always wanted to be Raquel Welch's personal bather. I got the job :greengrin. Fantastic job/move for me also!

I'd invite my parents. Wouldn't mind seeing them again. Plus Tommy Cooper to keep the party going!
