There's a genuine air of excitement about the man underpinned by confidence and belief in what he does - great 1st interview and I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop under Nutsy

That was encouraging.

He comes across as a no-nonsense grafter; but also has the reputation for having been an intelligent player and a shrewd tactician.

Powerful combination and just what Hibs need if he can make it work.

Why do I think he looks like Pat Nevin? :greengrin

We need a photo of them in the same room to prove they're not actually the same person.

It's amazing how people can gather so much from a tv interview. shrewd tactian, no nonsense gaffer. that's probably why we gave him the job then

A very eloquent interview; big improvement on Calderwood already!

I'm impressed I have to say, makes his point well, didn't duck potentially awkward questions.

Reading between the lines I'm hoping he's going to clear out the backroom staff. I would be sorry to see Billy go, but it's definitely past the point that Evans and Stevenson should have been removed.

So, a cross between Pat Nevin and Martin O'Neill? Quality! :aok:

Good first interview, shrewdly dealt with the questions asked. Seems like a breath of fresh air already.
Good luck Pat.:aok:

One of my favourite sweeties as a lad. I hope this manager disnae have a thing for sweeties though :greengrin

Back on topic, he comes across very well in that interview, already a thousand times more interesting than deadwood, sounds positive and enthusiastic. Having heard him now and having read a bit about him he certainly on the face of it seems like a good choice. I really hope he can put his plans in tae action and do something here.

Just such a relief to have a manager again, after having nobody at all in post for over a year.

Came across really well. Media savy, handled the questions with ease. He can talk the talk hopefully he can walk the walk.

Does anyone else think he would be good in a fight? I wouldn't 'mess', put it that way.

Not just that interview, obviously, as the subject of tactics was not even mentioned.

That part comes from wider reading into PF's background and comments from others in the game who know him and have worked with him. You should try it.

Here's an example to get you started:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15897883.stm

with the comments from Brian Kerr (former Manager of Republic of Ireland) being of some relevance.

Three interviews and not one mention of 'getting a result' at Perth (a draw). 'Get the points' he says - winning mentality right from the off. Promising.
