Kilchoman 100% Islay.

Try it. Love it.

Bottled at 50.1% Vol, non chill filtered, no added E150 colouring, made from barley grown on Islay, distilled, casked, stored and bottled on the island. Typical Islay peat smoke flavour but so, so much more and still only 3 years old.

I've tried all the Kichoman from the new make spirit through to their current 4 year old releases and when this stuff reaches 8-10 years it will be right up there with the big boys from Islay. Excellent whisky.

A 40-year-old single malt whisky is to go on sale at a budget supermarket chain.Aldi is predicting queues of eager shoppers to snake out of the doors as 3,000 bottles of the bargain whisky, made at a Scottish distillery in 1971, go on sale across its 450 UK stores on 8 December.Aldi said today it is the first supermarket to sell a whisky of this age and expects it to sell out within hours. The whisky will cost just £49.99 a bottle.

Islay malts all the way for me. Mrs M59 is an Islay girl so I may be biased. I'm nipping over there this weekend, might sample one...or two...or three.....................................:drunk:

Sounds like my favourite soy sauce:greengrin

I like the Islays so will give this one a go at some stage. Getting a good write up as well, though slightly expensive for a 5 year old.
