Flag Making Saturday 12th November 2011

We started the day at 9-30am. arriving at the St. Margaret House, a large community art hall and activity centre.

We soon took out the material for our first banner and cut it to size. About 10m long. possibly the largest of its kind in scotland.
Marking out the middle so we knew it was centred. design in the middle "Forza" on lhs and "Sect 43" on rhs
Setting up the projector with the design we wanted on acetate and projecting it on the wall.
We marked the design we wanted on the green material, tracing it from the projection on the wall.

After the outlines we completed we started painting.

It didn't take long to finish but was left to dry.

In the mean time we started marking out our smaller banner, with group logo on it and the "ultras" in a stencil typeset.

This second Design didn't take long to mark up but soon it was 12-30. meaning we were off to watch the u19's derby at ER.
enjoyed the game but we had to leave at 90mins as we had to get the rest of the flags sorted. We we pleased to get a text later to say it finished 2-1 to the hibs
When we got back we marked out the letters on the large flag and began painting the smaller one.

As the guys were finishing painting the smaller one some of us got started making smaller 2 stick designs.
Starting off with a GO'C one, then a Sauzee one and finally a AMF one.

Thes smaller 2 stick designs have been taken home by members of the group to paint as we were running out of time .

All in all it was a successful day completing 1 flag and 4 to be painted.
I will update you with the other flags when they have been finished.

They are smart but i don't see what the "against modern football" one is all about?

The one that says Ultras with the logo is smart!

Against modern football maybe means being constantly told to sit down at games, being treated like criminals at some grounds and having to pay a fortune to be treated that way. Just a thought

First outing of all the flags will be on the 2nd vs motherwell away, our official group launch type day, hopefully we manage to get some display materials together (streamers, balloons, randum inflatables or what not).

Banners are looking pretty good, better than what we expected for our first time.

Im working down south that day but gona see if I can get a train to Motherwell, been an advicate of the Friday night games and thats a place I wouldnt be disapointed about going to on a Friday.

I used to think the same about mobile phones and I couldn't be without one now!

I'm not a big Facebook user, but it's actually quite good. I can't be ersed with folk posting what they had for tea or what they're wearing, but it's good for casual contact with friends.

800 million people can't all be welts! Can they? :Ummm:

Just share it with folk you respect and it's fine.

Or don't bother. :greengrin

What is the 'against modern football' slogan all about?

we were at Celtic the other week, the polis told us to stop singing" sign on, sign on, with a pen in your hand song. They said we were intimidating celtic fans. 5 minutes later the Celtic fans were singing ooh ahh up the ra. So This is what football will be like in the Football Behaviour Bill. A licence to the polis to nick you for banter. I have wrote to My M.S.P. who is opposing the bill in it's current form. I have no problem outlawing bigotry, sectarianism etc. But it must be policed properly. And not a licence for any police to stop the banter. I also managed to have my bag searched 3 times that day. For fireworks, alledgedly. So if the new Bill passes, expect your liberty at a football ground to stop. This does not apply merely to Celtic Park...St Mirren, Rangers, Dundee Utd are all doing the same.
