You're right, he was considered to be the next big thing. He may still turn out to be just that as he has only recently turned 19 but he has certainly had a very poor run in the second half of 2011. In fact his whole season has been pretty ordinary, with the exception of the grass court tournaments. He does find himself at 41 in the world rankings right enough so he's certainly going in the right direction.
It's going to be quite tough for him as he has some very big boots to fill trying to replace Lleyton Hewitt at the head of men's tennis in Australia and there is obviously a very long list of famous Australian tennis players such as Pat Cash, Pat Rafter, Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Ken Rosewall and Roy Emerson so the pressure will be on him to perform.

Murray currently in action against Tomas Berdych. He's won the opening set, 6-4, but Berdych has just broken to go 2-0 up in the second set.

Murray gets beat 4-6 7-6 6-4 after more than 3 hours.
He should have had the match in the bag but he'll have an extra few days of rest now ahead of the World Tour Finals beginning a week on Sunday.
