Calm down, calm down, we all know Santa is a Hibby and, after all, it is his busiest time of the year, game moved to enable him to do his late/nightshift. Seems sensible to me. Ho Ho Ho:wink:

The Clydesdale Bank Premier League game between Dundee United and Hibernian at Tannadice on Christmas Eve will now have a 1.30pm kick-off at the request of the clubs.

Saturday December 24, 2011
Dundee United v Hibernian, 1.30pm

In fairness to the clubs they are probably thinking most fans want to be home and organised as early as possible on Christmas eve. If it was a 3pm kick off a few partners might be a bit unhappy about folk at the game not being home until half 7ish

Seems pretty sensible to me. Allows the blokes a couple of hours shopping time after the game.

More likely they are thinking of themselves, the players and especially a manager will want to get down south quickly after full time

Sensible move by both clubs. Public transport tails off quite early on Christmas Eve so a good decision all round.

Fair enough that. The game will be on Alba at half 5 tho, so I may go for that option instead!!

Why the long faces you Scroogeees? With Los Yambolinos soon boasting a midfield of Le Chat, Therapist and Boabster, this will be the closest we'll come to a competitive fixture over the holiday period.

A great excuse to get on the piss early, leave the kids with the other half and the dreaded in-laws, and do that hungover 'coasting' drinking through Christmas day that actually works so well. Besides, Jesus didn't really exist and if he did he was almost certainly a hippy puff rather than the son of god.

Pity....its a game that was ripe for a Friday evening slot...the 23rd....would have been a great way to start festivities......

probably an empty ST seat again for me....

But then again, a great excuse to get of the chaos.

If he is still here of course! The decision to schedule fixtures on Christmas Eve rather than the more traditional Boxing Day underlines the incompetence of the jokers running our game.

Had originally ruled this game out as the trains weren't kind coming back, but I'm VERY tempted now...

Do they think we're an NFL team? I've never before heard of a Scottish game on Christmas Eve. Will most likely try and attend though.

Take it this means no game on boxing day or the 27th then? Disappointing if that's the case.

Will probably go along to this before heading home to the folks' for Christmas.

G - If you come into any hospitality tickets, gie's a shout :greengrin

We're at home to Inverness on the 28th. Presume the clubs decided they'd rather have the bigger gap between games rather than playing the 26th and 28th.

In my experience, if we were to be losing 10 minutes into the second half then half of the Hibs support would be home long before that.

I realise that age will work against you but Hibs played Ayr United at ER on Xmas Eve around about 1976 /77......and the Huns on Xmas Day 70/71....

Reading about the KO change Dundee Utd V Hibs game this forthcoming Christmas Eve brought back memories of the match V Ayr Utd 24th Dec 1976.

It was a Friday evening with a 7.30pm ko. It was freezing cold and the crowd was around 1200 (IIR) Hibs won 1-0 due to an OG. The Coo Shed had been made all seated by then and we were allowed in there at terracing prices.

Looked out the match programme which cost 10p (should have been free as it had a picture of Ally Scott on the front cover). Some interesting reading includes.

The New Year Day game with Hearts at Tynie had been made all ticket after the Police insisted that the crowd should not exceed 30,000. Admission prices were Stand - £2.00 & £1.50, Enclosure - £1.00, Ground - 70p

In a ten team league Hibs were third bottom with only Ayr Utd and Kilmarnock below them.

Season Stats: P-14, W-1, D-9, L-4, F-13, A-17, Pts-11

A replica Jersey from the Club Shop cost £2.80. Scarves ranged from 80p - £2.00. 1977 Calendar 40p. Hibs comb 20p.

Those were the days.

It's crazy that the prices for the terracing were less than half of those for the stand.

I am looking forward to it, but if you are going to move it forward, why not 12pm, we are all used to those crap kick off times anyway. Seems a bit pointless moving it forward by an hour and a half.

Seems a strange decision from the clubs - I'd have thought the crowds would be bigger on the 26th than they'd get on the 24th.
