Now theres an idea:thumbsup:

Empty ground need filling?
Let existing season ticket holders buy another at half price.

Why didnt someone on ER Board think of that?

Because people attending St James can actually see some exciting football from a team that, so far, are competing up at the top of the league. Us on the other hand...

So why do they need to offer such a big incentive to improve their crowds?

To take full advantage of their current situation? They'd much rather have a big lump sum now from the usual walk-up buy ticket on the day fans to ensure they have their money whilst the team is performing well than the risk of Newcastle slowly fading away into mid-table obscurity with some punters not attending as many games. Ive seen numerous posts from ST holders on this site saying they're not even wanting to go back, so to suggest the option to them of buying another one...

According to a workmate the "Big" club has also introduced reduced price season tickets. Don't know if they are trying to raise money to repair the hole in the roof, pay long outstanding wages or get Sky re-connected. With the amount they will raise my money is on getting Sky re-connected.

Why didn't the board at any other club think of that too? Yet another pointless cheap shot.

Not pointless.

We need to compare ourselves with the forward-thinking clubs not just the average.

Our ground needs filled.

This sort of initiative might help.

Fair enough. My worry would be alienating full season ticket holders by giving these punters a better deal.

The offer is made to existing season ticket holders only.
It might encougage them to buy for a mate at a knockdown price and thus fill otherwise empty seats.

Rather than alienating them it would be a way of patting them on the back.
