Would simply not fit into the current side. Think about flair, attacking football and a winning attitude and could you really see a place for him at ER

Nope. Otto Pfister is. Russell was manager between April 08 and end of Jan 11.

I don't hate Russell Latapy. But have him back? To play top flight football? He's 43!!

See also the "Dean Shiels" thread for a withering critique on ex-player suggestions and the idea of "moving on"...

If I was the Petrie, i would offer russell an offer of player/coach

He can work with the first team as a coach then he can play in the reserve friendlies at east mains to work with the youngsters and teach them how to pass a ball the way he does

He doesnt have the legs anymore but his touch and accuracy is still incredible.

He would have loads to teach everyone at the club

There's not much about the game anywhere, only really a couple of comments on his performance.

strolled through the game but didn't really give any thing possitive

russel latapy has got the same game as he had 3-5 years ago but very impressed that he lasted the whole game

he was still very good to watch, was fitter than probably any of his team mates

Anyone know how he got on? He was easily the best player on the park. He spent a lot of time giving other players advice, I was worried one of the players would tell him where to go! There was only one free kick within range and it was disappointing that he passed rather than an attempt at goal. Other than that, he played a lot of good passes, the other players were not good enough to take advantage of his passes and couldn't get the ball to him enough when he was in space, the standard wasn't that good but it was enjoyable. It was really nice to see him again!

After all he done the same thing to their mentors around ten years ago.:tee hee:

Of which I was one HC however to put my point in perspective, train 17quid, ticket 20quid,food 30quid,bevvvvvvvyyyyyyyy god only knows but will call it 40quid so that's a 100+quid day to watch a poor team struggle to a win. Food bevvy and banter was good though and I now feel like an uberfan, its a lovely warm feeling

Took the wee one to the game, she is three and a half, they didn't charge us for her. We both had a pie and an orange juice at half time... In total we spent less than £12.

Really enjoyed the day Russell didn't do much running, but he never did, he still has all the quality can beat two or three with ease. He picks all the right passes but invariably his team mates cannot finish them.

As it says elsewhere they lost 1-0.
