Given the complicit silence BBC Scotland showed towards the institutional bigotry at Rangers prior to David Holmes takeover this is laughable. The truth obviously hurts!

Excellent news. No more interviews with those ***** on Sportsound. Only problem is where Chick Young is going to get his "exclusives" from.

The serious point is that the Murray regime did very little about BBC Scotland's coverage of 'sectarianism' that was effectively smears against long Rangers players and supporters, and by defacto all football supporters in Scotland. But Murray was quick to jump if it was himself that was under attack.

A BBC ban because they are investigating a the tax case and takeover and asking questions about Criag Whyte makes it look nothing has changed.

Rangers must surely be breaking the terms of the broadcasting contract then. BBC will have paid for access to staff for interviews etc within the terms of the contract. Another wee trip to the courts coming up ?

Mind on the way to Ibrox hearing some emotional crap about what a great job Sally's doing with inspirational music over it. Nearly made me throw up and it was a two part story!

Everyone in Scotland knows it but this helps the rest of the world understand just how endemic sectarianism is within the club. The BBC – still probably the least biased media broadcaster in the world – produces a documentary investigating the sectarian issues amongst their support and instead of backing it and pretending they are doing something to try to help it they ban the BBC.

The clubs behaviour resembles that of the BNP.

Not a good move Rangers, the truth is coming.

It's amazing the amount of Hibs fans who have forgot out Irish history and oppose the tricolour and call the Old Firm sectarian and then go and call Rangers "huns" we might as well start using other racist terms if that's the line you take?

I think it's a conspiracy by the British state against the oppressed Scottish underclass that follow Rangers. First Her Majesty's Income Tax service, and then the British Broadcasting Corporation. Rebellious Scots to crush indeed, as it says in that classic terrace anthem 'God Save The Queen.' Now where have we heard that one before? Careful what you wish for!

Looking forward to watching this. Anything that can cause maximum anguish to the most poisonous blight on Scottish society can only be a good thing. With the financial (hopefully fatal) difficulties they face (not to mention modern Scottish society's unwillingness to suffer the embaressment they heap upon our country in the world's eyes) possibly resulting in points deductions or an inability to buy success so easily in the future, it can only be a good thing for every other club. Loss in revenue from travelling Rangers fans would likely be made up by a rise in attendances at the other clubs as they league becomes more competitive. When things start to go wrong on the park for them you can bet you're a** attendances at Ibrox will drop massively, as they always do when they're not doing so well.

Without wanting to delve into politics too much, and regardless of whether you're for or against Scottish independence, the spectre of this Union Jack waving buffoonery in a modern independent Scotland is just too much to bear.

Lance the boil now I say!

No one will be more gutted by the ban than Chic Young - losing the opportunity to drool at the post match interviews held at his adopted 2nd team
