McFadden is a quality player, but if his injury problems weren't a huge concern then you have to think a Prem team would have had him signed up by now. Seems like nobody wants to take the risk. When it was evident he'd be available on a free I expected Everton to sign him up, they're desperate for someone up front.

He's gonna come back to Glasgow where he can re grow his rats tail safe in the knowledge that its an accepted haircut through there.

This is another Dublin/Llundgerberg/Keane type move to shift merchandise soon to be tossed to onside when hes served his purpose.

Hope he makes his debut at Rugby Park like Robbie Keane did, and it goes just as well as his!

I'd like to see Faddy back playing regularly. If it has to be Celtic, so be it. Lennon has a LOT of critics now among the Celtic fans. This move is more about Lennon trying to get disaffected fans back on board than actually needing a striker. It suits them both but not necessarily for purely footballing reasons.

Wonder what the odds on a last minute change of heart and a switch to the huns are.......

Can't see him ending up at ibrox. Not with the jobbie that's about to hit the fan with them at present. Rangers fans are pretty worried about this tax case now and looks more and more like they may get done. Happy days.

Scottish striker James McFadden is set to complete a free transfer return to Everton after undergoing a medical at the club on Monday.

McFadden missed almost the whole of last season with a serious knee injury and Birmingham chose not to offer him a new contract after they were relegated. The Scot, 28, played 109 games for Everton between 2003 and 2008, before moving to Birmingham for £5m.

He has turned down recent offers from Wolves and Celtic.

How times change, Dundee making an £850,000 bid for McFadden in 2003.

"Dundee had earlier upped their bid to £850,000 for McFadden, while Celtic had an attempt on Friday to take the youngster on loan rejected out of hand."

Is this because the man who wants to bring him to Celtic could be a goner next week?
