Just finished watching some of the highlights from last night - was a good game between the Penguins and the Canucks, requiring the shootout for the Penguins to win it.

We get underway tonight in the Joe, with the Senators coming to town. Genuinely not sure how I like our chances this year, as a lot of our veterans have retired, though we have brought in a lot of good players to cover.

Can't wait for Saturday's match up against Florida. I think the Islanders have a genuine shot at a playoff berth, to even be contending come March would make me happy. Lots of great young talent like Tavares, Okposo and Grabner locked up for many years to come (the kid Strome that we've drafted could be the pick of the bunch) It will be a case of key players staying healthy for the whole year this time round which will determine our season.

Just need a new arena now!

Good start for us last night, winning 5-3 over Ottawa. Looked a little bit vulnerable in the third period, but were quite impressive in the opening 2, when the game was effectively done and dusted. We didn't kill our penalties very well, and 2 of their goals came from the power-play, so an obvious area to improve, but otherwise, a pretty successful night!

Is that Dion Phaneuf? He's a bit of headcase at times, gave Kyle Okposo a nasty concussion a few years back when at the Flames with a really nasty hit.

Looking forward to Islanders-Rangers tonight - we were on fire against Tampa on Thursday so confidence should be high and it's always good to put NY's self appointed "big team" in their place. Nabakov is set to start in net which I never thought I'd see.
