O'Connor's feat has got me thinking. I've been watching Hibs since 1988 and can't think of anyone who might have managed this in that time. Anyone know?

Possibly Stevie Cowan and maybe Gordon Durie too in 1985? We started the league badly, but they kept sharing hat-tricks in the early rounds of the league cup.

Cowan was into October before he did it in 1985, but Durie managed his tenth in the league cup semi on 25/9/85:

I've had a look through the usual suspects since and I can't see anyone who has equalled this.

Hows about the lanky guy Miller (poss Willy Miller) but not the defender one. The striker from Stantons management era ?

Willie Irvine?

Willie scored his 9th goal (in the 10th match of the season) on 1st October - he went on to score his 10th and 11th goals on 15th October (in the 13th game of the season) and scored again in the next match.

Cowan scored 10 in the first 15 games & 13 in the first 18 - Durie scored 9 in the first 7 games, 10 in the tenth and 12 in the twelvth game of the season.

Ally Scott scored 4 in the first 3, 6 in the first 8 and scored only another 2 goals for the rest of the season - apologies to Doddie for the reminder :greengrin

Irvine, that's the fella. When I was learning photography, I did a couple of photo shoots at Easter Road of the team training, and got one of him with 2 hats for his 2 hat-tricks he'd netted that season so far.

It's not just the number of goals but the quality of them. No poacher's tap-ins but at least 3 that could qualify for goal of the season.

The King, Joe Baker ?.:not worth

Joe made his debut on 15th August 1957 and was then replaced by Reilly/Fraser/Harrower but scored in his second game on 7th October in a 4-2 win at Tynie (opening of floodlights - Tam Preston scored 3)

He scored 2 in the next game v Queens park and 3 in the next game - a 5-2 win over Spurs. Joe scored 12 goals in 10 games (1 of which he didn't play) between 7th October and 16th November 1957.

1958-59 Joe scored 11 in 12 games (4th October)

1959-60 Joe scored 10 in 12 games (3rd October)

1960-61 Joe scored 10 in 20 games (12th November)

Joe Baker :not worth

Thanks for the Info Brian, I am much obliged mate. I just knew Joe would not be far away, as far as goal-scoring records go.

Harper managed this in 75/76 & 74/75

Alan Gordon managed this in 72/73 - as did Jimmy O' Rourke, who rattled 8 goals in the last 10 days of September

Neil Martin did this in 65/66 banging in 15 goals before the end of September before moving on.

Killen managed 4 in 06/07 - his last - by the end of September. He then managed another 11 in October, November, December and up to 10th January when he got injured v Aberdeen in his final game for Hibs.
