Difference being Joe scored his 100 Arsenal goals in 156 games while RVP took 238 games.

Very simplistic comparison, since there was no subbing in JB's day. Joe will have played near enough 156 full games. Van Persie has started 175 games for Arsenal.

Joe was definitely better - not for statistical reasons, but because he played for us.
