:agree: Unless the story about finding the gun, being scared to be caught with it and the accidental discharge aren't 100% accurate.

Obviously, if he was a naive daft young laddie, it would be a bit harsh. I reckon the judge maybe had a wee bit inside info, like social enquiry reports, and maybe, previous convictions, which maybe tell a different story? It would have to be a naive judge, that swallowed that bulls*** of an excuse and dealt with him leniently.
