Anyone think the team are starting to 'gel' yet?

And to answer the OP - not even close yet, you can't count any of Calderwoods defeats after he arrived and before the Jan window, or those after we were safe from relegation.

I think we could be looking back to the Duffy era with great nostalgia soon.

A Duffmeister Select XI vs CC's gelling crew would be an interesting watch.

2-0 with a Tosh and Power tag team wrapping the points up for the Duffmeister is my call:agree:

Thanks for clearing that one up CP - forgot that we can't count any of the previous games as being under Calderwood's tenure yet as he hadn't had two windows, and now that he has we're still, in reality, in our pre-season in terms of the team gelling.

I suppose the next question really must be, when does the new season officially start? Cause it's looking like next August in Division One right now. (Which is maybe a plan of Rod's to sell more season tickets.)

As a matter of interest, after our first 6 league games of 1997-98 under Duffy (we also started that season with a home game v Celtic) we had won 3, lost one and drawn 2, sitting on 11 points - we had scored 13 and conceded 6. Of course our disasterous run began shortly after that, culminating in Duffy's sacking after the 6-2 defeat at Motherwell (who were immediately above us in the league IIRC), having been 2-0 up inside the first 8 minutes. But we did have 7 points more than we do now and were still relegated.

For further interest, the Hibs line up for Duffy's last game was: -

Reid, Miller, Boco, Jackson (Dow, 77) , Dennis, Welsh (sent off 43), Harper, Larusson (McCaffrey 87 ) , Crawford, Lavety, McGinlay

Subs not used: Walker

Would destroy the current side - but perhaps not once they gelled.
