This is for those in the USA, either staying or visiting.

Have you seen the latest TV commercial for Metro PCS? Loud and proud they have The Sash (in classic flute band format) playing during the entire commercial!!! It should also be pointed out that their commercials are renound for racist tones towards the people of India. Clearly there must be a Hun in charge of Metro PCs.

"The Halls of Montezuma" (the official march of the US Marine Corps) is very definitely NOT the same as "The Sash".

It's very similar to a tune composed by Jacques Offenbach - "The Bold Gendarmes" - but not (I think) identical.

USMC Hymn only uses two out of the three phrases (with slight modifications) from the Gendarmes Duet. It was a popular song in Paris when a Marine officer was visiting and he basically nicked it.
