BBC are so fechin predictable, tie of the round is unquestionably Motherwell v Hibernian and they choose to show one of the ugly sisters just for a change!

If you think any game involving Hibs at the moment is suitable for national tv, you are sadly wrong. To use a phrase from an Irish football analyist, it's 'puke football'.

Do the still have a watershed?

The less we're live on national tv the better.

Even Hibs fans are struggling to watch Hibs on the telly just now so I dont blame anyone for not choosing to screen our match.

One game is a 'men against boys' foregone conclusion........ the other one is Ross County v Celtc! :greengrin

Good. I am glad it is not on the TV that way there is a better chance of getting a decent crowd. Why would you want it on the TV?

If Hibs had been worthy opponents to make a game of it, it might have been chosen. As it is, they must see the result as a foregone conclusion without the likelihood of a giantkiller outcome. Let's face it, everybody outwith the 'Hibs family' is aware of the rank bottom position we have earned ourselves and unsurprisingly see Hibs as a shadow of what it should be.

Whilst I get where the OP is coming from, one might suggest that even if both teams were flying, where is the "romance of the cup" element in showing a game that's between two teams that will play each other up to 4 times this season anyway.... Any SPL side versus a lower league side is probably of more interest to the neutral. They would still show the obvious OF option of course

Lets be honest, surely it is as simple as the reason that the old firm away games are generally always on TV, because they have a far bigger fan base i.e. viewing numbers, in addition seldom will there be a ground that can accommodate all of their traveling fans. Surely it is as simple as that.

I dont think it has anything in the slightest to do with hibs and how we are playing, plus there is plenty of negative feeling on here about the number of games on TV, so it seems a little ironic that we would be getting upset that this game is not on TV!

To be honest, I think they have it correct on this occasion. The County game will be an interesting game with a big chance of a shock, a noisy crowd packed into a small ground and the chance to see some good players tested by an inferior team. The romance of the cup!

Fir Park - on current form a walk in the park for Motherwell, so likely to be boring. That said the last few Well/Hibs games have had a few goals! The sad thing is that if this game has a few goals, it will more than likely mean we have got thumped again.

Me too. I think we will take a reasonable crowd through, certainly more than if it was on tv.

Bottom line in this instance is if you want to see the game then go to it.

It would appear that I'm in the minority then.

That pair of parasites don't need any more exposure on TV or the cash that goes with it. Fair enough for neutrals wanting to see Ross County or another lower division side try to create an upset but not the unwashed.

Why not show Airdrie v Dundee Utd, Aberdeen v East Fife or Ayr Utd v Hearts ... anyone but the bloody Old Firm!
