Turn over and forget all about the dismal performance we've all just endured.

Currently Stoke City 0-0 Chelsea, just approaching half time.

West Brom vs Man Utd after this, followed by Real Madrid vs Barcelona.

This has been a decent game thus far, but still 0-0.

Lampard just dived in the area looking for a penalty - of course, it was a "clear penalty" according to Ray Wilkins.

FT: Stoke City 0-0 Chelsea

That's Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all dropped point on the opening weekend. C'mon West Brom and Swansea to ensure the "big 5" all start with whimpers :greengrin

0-0 between Stoke and Chelsea.

Big chance for United to go two points ahead of Chelsea early on in the season.

Yeh but when he seen it from the other angle , you could tell that he had changed his mind...

He still felt it should have been given though "considering Mark Halsey's angle".

The only one which looked like a penalty was the first tackle on Torres at the edge of the area.

Man Utd apparently have a "weakened team" out today, with the average age of the side being 24.

Looks a frightening 11 to me...

I don't bet anymore but if I did I'd be staking my whole bank on Man U to win the league whilst not betting again this season, money in the bank with the best rate of interest you'll find...

Been mightily impressed by United going forward. Cleverly looks a cracking young prospect, Ashley Young gives United a threat down the left which only Evra previously gave them and Nani looks like he's continuing to develop into a good player. Chris Smalling also looks good going forward.

They look a little bit suspect at the back, especially Fabio, but they're missing Rafael and Evra.

1-1: Long

Regardless of the score today I still think United will win the league, think getting a goalie fro La Liga was a mistake though, different style of football altogether

 Surely a keepers job does not really change no matter the style of football the team plays ??

In Spain there is a lot less of an aerial threat as they keep it on the deck more. In England a lot more big bruisers crashing towards the goalie.

Not a great performance, but they ground out a result, where Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool failed.

Well it's a 2 leg thing so I thought one would be Nou Camp and the other at Bernabeu.

Missed most of the second half but it sounds as if it was a game that champions win.

United weren't at their flowing best by any stretch of the imagination but they got the three points.

The match could be quite costly, though, with injuries to Ferdinand and Vidic. They do have Smalling and Jones to come in and they have played together at England under-21s but there's no doubt that losing two players of the calibre of Ferdinand and Vidic will be a blow.

That's eight matches that have been played so far on the opening weekend and no home side has won. If Swansea can do the business tomorrow night at Manchester City then it will set a new record.

Let's hope so.
