Im going to america in the middle of September and with all this thing about the america debt does anybody know if this means we will get a better rate for dollars?
At the moment i can get the dollar at $1.6.

It certainly still seems to be rising, as it was at 1.59 on Monday but is at 1.63 today.
I don't know enough about financial factors and exchange rate influence, but I would imagine this deal should see the rate plateau or slow down again at least.

At the moment i can get the dollar at $1.6.
The exchange rate hasn't varied much in recent months so, realistically, unless you're changing a hefty amount, I wouldn't give it too much thought.

I have a chunk of change in the UK that I want to bring over here, at some point, so I would love to see the pound strengthen.....but at what cost to the (US) economy?

$1.545 today .. thankfully bought @ $1.62 a few weeks back for my hols next week.
This will be the lowest I have had on holiday as previous levels had been $2.00, $1.96, $1.92 and $1.80
