It has to be said, we actually have a pretty strong squad these days, alot of good quality in there/good prospects. People can get as negative as they want about Scotland, but we are definatly in a much better position these days IMO!

You really think so?? I honestly can't see the managers of Croatia, Serbia or Belgium having sleepless nights over that lot. I don't think there's one player in that list who would be good enough for an England squad.
Oh & spotty continues to pick players such as Bannan & Wilson who are nowhere near close to getting a club game.

It's not a particularly strong squad when compared with other nations, but I agree it's definately improving.

To be fair, Bannan has looked very promising whenever he's played for Villa and the under 21s, he was brilliant against Iceland at easter Road last year.

However, where are Craig Gordon and Lee Wallace?? And Danny Wilson really has no right to be there, is he really better than Hanlon (who is not ready for full internationals yet imho, but if Wilson is then..)?

I dont know about that, I would think the McGregor and potentially Hutton/Whittaker would have a chance of getting into an England team as would Fletcher/Adam potentially.

I would agree that Bannan and Wilson are strange choices given neither of then really gets a sniff at first team football. Wilson especially as I dont see a lot of CH on the list. I would have thought that little grunt templeton may have been in his throughts given he is a yam.

Why no Wallace? He plays with Rangers now so he can pick and choose when he's available for selection.

Only problem is we have a complete rubber johnny in charge of the team.

How many competitive games has Danny Wilson played since moving to Liverpool? Not expecting Hanlon to be starting for Scotland but surely a call up to the squad for a friendly could be expected.

What has Forrest done with Celtic. Nothing. How does he get into the squad but Jamie Murphy can't.

Hanlon is nowhere near ready for even a call-up to a friendly. By all accounts, Wilson is a decent player but no-one should be getting selected if they are not a first-team regular at their club.

Who the hell is he more to the point?? I must be losing touch with the scraps of Celtc's squad cos I'm never heard of him

To be honest, I support Scotland, and am thinking of going to a couple of the WC qualifiying away games, but with Levein in charge, it will always be even more of a trial than usual watching us hump it about the place in a 4-6-0 formation.
