A friend of mine from Bristol just sent me this about our new signing;

"Blimey, you’ve signed Manuel “Junior” Agogo! Career should have been so much better. He was very good for us and if you use him right, he could be an astute signing."

Having looked at his youtube videos, he looks a very good player, but, to hear it from a fan of a team that he's already played for...that's excellent...Junior Agogo!!! :greengrin

Am I right in thinking he can see a pre-contract in January?

No, good players are only available at the end of transfer windows.

Ignore me I'm just being a bit of a dick (my smilies aren't working for some reason or i would have put a wink, stirrer, greengrin or something of that nature)

It does highlight my point a wee bit though from another thread, yes he will be available on a pre-contract from January, so if he's good we're leaving ourselves open to losing him for next season in the same way that there were lots of players out of contract in January that were available for us to pinch on a pre-contract but chose not to.

The 12th man may take while to master Agogo's song as in this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M8uXvfmews&feature=related

BTW, well done with the signing last night.

If he has a queue forming at his door come January then great...

Means he is doing the business for us.

I don't see the issue of players using us as a springboard to be honest. If they are then to get any move they need to do it for us.

Rather that than say a Keenan or a Hart or even a Rankin or a Nish who from us are going to only go one way...

No good players are only available at the end of transfer windows. Are they the same as dirty lowdown players? Them No good players I mean.

I think that the days of players signing long deals on arrival for a free are pretty much gone unless it is a youngster who has a potential resale value.

A more experienced player will be looking for a decent weekly basic so it makes sense to have them on shorter deals. 1) so that the contract liability is not huge for the club and 2) it means that the player has to perform every week in order to get another one or a better offer elsewhere. Either way the club wins.

:agree:

Will probably still mean a large turnover of players but you want players who are at least trying to prove themselves and will give their all.

How do you know it is not a one-year deal with an option for Hibs to entend?

Never achieved his true potential - where have we heard that before? "Wouldn't be at Hibs otherwise":greengrin

Has some court previous, was disciplined for "not sweating enough" (honest!!) and rumours of a habit

He may not be perfect but he's ours

I have a feeling Junior Agogo is going to be a slightly better version of Michael Anthony Courier. Would be good though if he could actually be a dominant aerial threat. Dunno how him and Ak-attack would play together upfront though.

Just wish Joe Keenan would come back and draw the happy hibby half time draw.

One of my mates who is a Notts Forest Fan says we have a really good player if we can keep him fit.

He is a bit of an anorak when it comes to spotting players.
