Stats say it all really without a single attempt on target and not 1 corner to us.
Not good enough at home.
Possession
Hibs 41% Celtic 59%
Attempts on Target
Hibs 0 Celtic 4
Attempts off target
Hibs 0 Celtic 2
Corners
Hibs 0 Celtic 6
For some on this site that's acceptable

Just been interviewed on Radio Scotland.
He did mention that we would need to show more attacking flair (or words to that effect) next week at ICT.
Sounds like a good idea eh :na na:

Not sure I understand the smiley you've used ...
... but in terms of mentioning the blindingly obvious, that is invariably what Managers do in their post-match sum-up.

Very poor from midfield to front. Stevenson was again guilty of giving away possession almost every time he had the ball. Not a lot of imagination or creativity on display.
The centre of defence looked a bit more solid with O'Hanlon, but the full backs were both guilty of playing too close to the centre halves, leaving acres of space down both wings for Celtc to exploit.
Long hard season ahead, unless we get in at least 4 more players in this window - RB, CH, midfield and striker.

Yet he played all through the youth system at LM?
No he didn't.

My quick views on today's performance. I feared the worst and pleased that it was a close affair. However that was due to Celtic putting in one of the most insipid performances I've seen from a Celtic side at ER. They hardly had to get out of 2nd gear, but won with efficient finishing and restricting us to NIL shots on goal. Hibs looked ok in patches, but again., I put this down to Celtic looking characteristically sloppy and unfit. Once the first went in it was game over.
Positives were the new guys : Oconnor, Sproule and OHanlon. Also Booth, Hanlon, Paulson and Thornhill put in a decent shift.
Negatives were: Stack, Murray, Wotherspoon and Stephenson (second half). None of these guys should be playing for an SPL team, let alone Hibs.
Worry for the season ahead: this was Hibs raising their game for the OF and coming up well short on quality. God help us against hungrier sides like Well, Yams, DUFC, Killie etc etc.
Already, I would say that Hibs are stick-on relegation candidates. Don't think I've ever thought that at the beginning of a season - blame squarely on the shoulders of the inept Petrie and our gutless Manager.

plenty positives to take from that game and a major improvement from last year
Couldn`t see much improvement from where I was sitting. No shots at goal , no corners, a slow predictable midfield and of course a goalkeeping blunder. The only real positive is the fact that we will not be playing teams of Celtics calibre every week though even they were not brilliant today. You could even make a case for saying we were worse because this season we don`t have Riordan to deliver some decent free kicks into the box. The quality of the free kicks we did get were abysmal.

Some of the deliveries into the box were laughable today, especially the ones from Booth in the first half. Booth may have some admirable qualities, crossing certainly isn't one of them.
