When is the latest we can sign someone in order for them to register in time play sunday???????

I think they have to be registered with the SFA/SPL by midnight on Friday. It's normally straightforward so, as long as they have the paperwork by then, the player is considered registered.

However, players whose last registration was held under a different country's FA are a different story and can take days to clear, even after the documentation is submitted as the SFA/SPL do their own checks.

Their offices may be open on Saturday but I'm not sure. With that in mind, it probably needs to be tomorrow to be sure.

If we're signing a player who comes from a country within the EU, from a Scottish club, then there should be no problem in getting them signed and registered by tomorrow.

If we're signing a player who comes from outwith the EU or from a club outwith Scotland, I would say the chances of them being eligible to play on Sunday are extremely slim.
