6-0 Celtic

Celtic haven't beaten us by that margin in the last three years, that's as far back as I went.

Hibs scores always listed first.

2011/2011
Sep 25 : 1-2 (L)
Jan 15 : 0-3 (L)
Apr 6 : 1-3 (L)

2009/2010
Aug 30 : 0-1 (L)
Jan 27 : 2-1 (W)
Apr 4 : 0-1 (L)
Apr 17 : 2-3 (L)

2008/2009
Oct 20 : 2-4 (L)
Dec 7 : 2-0 (W)
Jan 24 : 1-3 (L)
May 17 : 0-0 (D)

Summary : no doubt, last season was a horrible season but if we look at it in the grand scheme of things, it was not a typical season. There are two frames of mind : you can either think that last season was a blip, or you can think that it's the beginning of a bad period in our club's history. Unsurprisingly I am going for the blip theory. :)

Certainly a 5 - 0 defeat might be overly pessimistic but a 2 or 3 goal defeat is not exactly going out on a limb !

I'll say 1 - 3.

1-4 Celtic.

We'll start of quite positively against a barely interested looking Celtic team. Celtic will then score with a free header in the 25th minute and our defenders will stand with their hands on there hips looking at each other in that bemused way with plenty of silent 'what?' being mouthed by players to each other.

The Happy Clappers will sing a defiant "We'll support you ever more" for two lines, and the previously quiet away end will chant some rebel song, as if they're political prisoners who have just dug their way out of Long Kesh prison into Cameron Diaz's bedroom.

The gloom and doom merchants will shake their heads and say 'same old, same old.'

Hibs will again play brightly, competing, but will only have one chance, a Sproule shot in a one-on-one when he's moving away from goal. Another stupid defensive blunder on the stroke of half-time will see us go 0-2 down to a crap Celtic team who have barely broken sweat.

Celtic will step it up in the second to put on a bit of a show, and miss a few easy chances before making it 3-0 in 68 mins. Cue mass exodus from the 8,734 Hibs fans in the Easter Road stands, and disinterest in the local pubs as fans either think about calling their dealers for more cocaine or, realising its a Sunday, decide to call it a day.

Celtic will go to sleep, and Hibs will score some deflected goal, probably through O'Connor but credited as an OG in the press. That will seem like the end of it, but Celtic will be awarded a last minute penalty for an incident which nobody, bar about four people on here on Monday, will be bothered to discuss, which will be converted by a grossly overweight Anthony Stokes who will have come on for the last six minutes.

The League table will show that after one game played, Celtic have pulled level with Rangers on 3 points and plus three goals each, in what promises to be a riveting race for the title, while the Euro race for the right to get gubbed in the Arctic Circle in July, remains tight as ever, with ten teams all on one point, and us and one other club just one behind on zero.

Calderwood will say that there were plenty of positives to take away from the game, and that he's hopeful of making another new signing soon.

In all seriousness, I reckon Celtc will take at least 4 off us on Saturday, we are in a mess, managed by a guy who does'nt want to be there, and who appears to think we don't need any new players, I think we may end up getting a real reality check on Sunday, which might not be a bad thing.
