Obviously being a Hibs supporter and a Fox for 33 years I am pretty biased but can I suggest that all Hibs supporters take time to read the Bobby Smith Sponsored Cycle article on the main Hibs site & consider making a donation.

I was lucky to see him play for both clubs many times and to meet him at Leicester, Hibs games and out in Edinburgh. A really top guy that gave his all for both clubs.

His sons are cycling from Easter Road to Leicester - it takes me 5+ hours to drive to
City games so they deserve all the support they can get

Just Give !!!

Bobby's 30- yarder against Rangers at Easter Road in the late 70's merits a donation in itself

As, if you are a Leicester supporter, does his volley against Charlton at the Kop End at Filbert Street in April 1980 when City won promotion

Bobby made his debut in the same game that Gary Linker made his first start for City -
he scored & Lineker didn't in a 2-0 win over Oldham at Filbert Street

A top bloke. Some mates and I rented the flat above his pub in Dalkeith and he was always good for some Hibs chat.

If any1 has any spare cash then its well worth sponsoring the boys. I know the lads doing the cycle personally and know the dedication and effort they are putting in to be ready for this.

Remember as well that in addition to playing for Hibs that Bobby was one of us - travelling home and away after he stopped playing to follow the Hibs

I know it's not much but if the guys are coming via loughborough i'll join them for the last 10 miles and get some sponsorship, it's not 500 miles but its better than nothing!

How can i find out the route?
