Martin Scott can gtf as far as i care. Hope Welsh gets the quickest recovery possible. All his injuries have been such a shame as he is a good player and could have finally been able to start his career in the first team.

I was in for some surgery on Friday. I gather he was in on Wednesday/Thursday last week I believe. I wish him well!

It was a training ground bust up get over it, not saying what happened was right..but I have first hand information that sean welsh was the one who tried to hit 'jimmy' as a reaction to a tackle. These things happen, wish him a speedy recovery.

so if the boot was on the other foot and Welsh's punch connected with Scott...you'd be backing him because he can kickstart his career?

You've heard of self-defence, yes?

If I go to hit someone with a baseball bat but they take it off me and give me a taste of my own medicine, tough titties for me - I asked for it.

I hope Welsh is okay but I don't think all the blame can be put on Scott, if the stories are right.

I hope Sean recovers soon.

Regarding his immediate career, I've been told that before the injury negotiations were in progress for him to go back to Stirling for the first part of next season (source is people at the Binos) as Hibs felt he needed more playing experience before moving into the SPL.

Having met Sean Welsh a few times he comes across as the sort of guy who thinks hes "it" . If the above poster said about Welsh starting it first is true then to be honest I would have decked him too. Doesn't mean to say Jimmy wanted to break the boys jaw.

From what I have heard Welsh was ripping the pish out of Scott with the football and Scott has halved him with a challenge. Welsh took exception and squared up and then got laid out. Have no idea if this is completely accurate...just what I heard.

These things happen all the time at football clubs I'd wager. Problem in this circumstance is someone got seriously hurt......we wouldn't have heard about it otherwise.

The club has dealt with it anyway and we all need to move on. If a problem between them persists then obviously one of their Hibs careers will be over very soon as you can't have that in the dressing room. We as fans should not lend any encouragement to any blame game. IMO it sounds like both are to blame anyway.

Thats what i think too. They should just get on with it, and after Welsh comes back he perhaps will have learnt a very painful lesson.

Really just another example that professional athletes live under totally different rules than the rest of us. Where I worked two employees having a fist fight were automatic grounds for termination.

Some people missing the point here. The OP said there had been 'serious complications with his surgery'. If true surely this could end in criminal charges.

Only if a complaint was made and, even then, if a case of reasonable self-defence couldn't be made surely?

Well if you don't mind me saying, that's rather a fuddish attitude to take. If Sean Welsh came up and tried to hit me I'd skelp him one as well and if he ended up hospitalised well that would be his tough sheight no?!?

Martin Scott while showing a lot of energy on the pitch, has struggled to find a Hibs player with most of his passes to date - if you want to take issue with him about that then fair enough. But holding a grudge against him for simply defending himself is out of order IMO.

If at court. Self defense.

Dont know facts either and not on any side but that is how the law would see it at trial. Both should be displined IMO with the understanding Sean is already pay a cost.

Ive been in hospital next to someone with a broken jaw and it isnt pleasant to look at or listen too .

Forget the complications with surgery. Is it really such a leap to see the reason he was having surgery was due to an incident at work.? i'm only speculating but if someone hit you at work and your surgery never went well what would your options be?

I'd say Wallet Merger's attempt to end us was a fairly downbeat pre-season.
