I'm being stupid here no doubt, but how will we make money from SPL tv? Will it work like Setanta Espn etc...?

Instead of selling the rights to screen SPL games to other companies SPL TV would be a dedicated TV channel that screened the games and the subscription fee for the channel will be paid directly to the league.

Will probably allow more games to be screened as well as showing games from the 1st division to give that league a bit of a cash injection.

Donkey and Rod will not be happy bunnies but the majority of supporters in Scotland will be delighted by this news , there was a few on here who told us it was a done deal and if not for this season it was a certainty for the season after , well humble pie time for them who wanted to see more of the OF , lets all work for a larger league , we have the power !.

I don't remember a single post claiming that, not one. Plenty of debate about the various options but the one thing we could all share was a sense of frustration that ultimately selfish self interest would prevail. Which is the case, looks like our games leaders have opted for the status quo which practically nobody wanted.

looking like same old 12...but trying to get League 1 to join and play offs to make package for TV....

not ideal but better tha origional idea....However....what about the split?

Agreed/amen etc.... scottish national football declined dramaticcally in the years that followed the formation of a 10 teir top league. the likes of Dalgliesh and even Sourness left scotland for better football, and in '86 Sourness (s****** s******) killed it off completely as a potential to fully equal countries of the same population. yes we have tried since, but to no avail until almost....thats right the dodgy decision against us at home v's Italy in the last Qualifier. to think we beat France home and away, boy did we get dilusions of grandure eh?
