was at the pool in Dundee yesterday and got talking to a few of the Dundee utd players who never traveled to poland as they were injured and getting put through there pace by physio or coach.

we got onto hibs and all four of them seemed to hold calderwood in a really high opinion and that they found playing against us harder since his arrival. Also that he had a good eye for a player, they really liked palsson.

They thought we would be pushing for further than top six as long as we kept Calderwood.

it was really good hearing other teams view on hibs and refreshing to hear good things about calderwood, it's all be rather negative recently .

as for themselves this season. They all said they felt there squad was quite small and were looking for top 6.

They are far better than us.

Who were the players?

Forget to say. Dundee has a class pool if it was the main one.

Forgot about them. They have been far better but here's hoping they struggle as they have been very impressive in recent seasons.

Dundee Utd 'strengthened' by adding John Rankin. We were delighted to move him on, think that's an indication of how the teams compare, IMHO.

But there is no denying that over the last few years they have been better than us and one of the best outside the OF.

Although we are replacing crap players with better ones, and they are losing their best players.

That's all very well but what did they say about his interview manner, habit of telling the truth and dress sense? That's the real criteria for judging a Hibs manager.

lol not much on that but to be truthful i don't care if he wares a mr blobby suit and starts to act like this in his interviews as long as we start winning games.

they think we will win games with him in charge, that he has brought in good players and made us harder to play against.

I don't think this is all just hype, he's certainly rated rather highly by a few managers down south, otherwise they wouldn't be after him! Just because the guy seems a bit of a dunderheid on the telly doesn't mean he's a clueless zoomer. I'd like to judge him after a full season, after this pre-season to be fair. I don't think we'll get that opportunity though.

Swanston is injured, as is Scott Robertson.

Their players said after a defeat at Tanna that Hibs players were 'cheating' and not trying.

Oor players rate CC much more than the previous incumbent .. And that's no the Yogi's dross that CC's emptied.

2-2 at er we were 2-0 down and swanson stupidly got himself sent off and 3-0 at tannadice we actually played well despite the score IIRC.

we only got beat 1-0 at tannadice aswell, rankin missed a penelty to to put us 1-0 late in the match and then they scored a few minutes from time,

Forgot about that one, Stevenson missed a sitter from the rebound! And Brown had a shock at the end for their goal.

Should add this was the defeat under Yogi with Cregg starting and (disas)starring for 45 mins before being hooooooked. Yogi then sent us out second half in a 3-4-3!
