Because its unsportmanlike behaviour.

:faf: if I was Jimmy Scott then I wouldn't be using that argument

That's why IMHO it is absolutely vital that he is either allowed to leave and we get a new manager in place immediately. We are in a shambolic state. That is not being hysterical, or being a 'drama queen'.........we only have two recognised strikers at the club FFS. What happens if either pick up an injury at the weekend ? We have (yet again) no established right back (Hart isn't even a footballer IMO)..........we have no creative midfielders. Say what you like about Jumbo Jefferies and Hearts but they did their business early, the have (in very erratic ways) rebuffed advances for Wallace and other players and are offering new deals, and they have a settled squad yet again as we enter a pre-season. Dundee United are settled despite losing key players, and Aberdeen, Well and Killie are quietly re-building as we are playing mind games and brinksmanship with our manager, B'Ham and Forest. Money/business before football yet again. Will we ever learn eh

Sums it up for me.

If RP so wants CC to stay maybe getting a couple more signings might help?

This is a farcical situation and one that has the potential to damage our entire season.

I keep hoping that we're negotiating with our next manager AND his potential signings, but I think that's very wishful thinking...

If you notice Scott after the goal he an Murray go to the ref to complain. My take on that is that the goal scorer shouted "leave it" and Scott dummied it not realising it was the cheating Livvi bassa that had shouted.

Livi guy was lucky he didn't end up with a sore face! :greengrin

I dont care what celtic do, just Hibs.

Yet you complain that Celtic wouldnt stand for their manager "treating" them like Calderwood is treating Hibs? All based on assumption.

While you disregard Celtic losing in Australia but treat the Hibs defeat like its the end of the world?

And you comment in detail, critically, about the performances of players in a game you weren't at and didnt see?

I dont care what their team does, i do wish we had more balls as a support

I never mentioned their result???

My comments were just what most people were saying, my comments on last season under him were on what i saw with my own eyes. If you were there last night, can you tell me if we looked stronger, better fitter, had more passion and fight? Looked more organised, or was it just more of the same?

A 2-1 defeat against a lower division side is not good in any circumstances in my book, just another case of standards slipping so low, we accept it now as the norm.

Some pretty OTT reactions on here, not unexpected I have to add....

How many "bigger" clubs lose to "smaller" clubs in pre-season friendlies?

I seem to remember us getting a good result against EPL side Blackpool last season. Invariably in friendly matches, the players on the "smaller" team try harder than the players on the "bigger" team because it is their chance to beat the bigger side against better players. I'm not going to get worried about the result last night.

In saying that, we all knew before last night that there are players in the squad who are just not good enough and need to be moved on, but I think there will be difficulties getting rid of them. Doesn't matter what manager we have, there were players who started last night who wont be starting many games this season, if any at all.

I dont know if its still the case but when I played and it wasnt yesterday to be fair you were booked if you did that under ungentlemanly conduct. You always had to put your name on a shout. "Baldy fat bastirts ba" type of thing. "Leave it" or "Ma Ba" wasnt on.There had to be a name.

:agree: Them was the :rules: in my era too. But if the Livi guy just shouted "Ma baw", Scott should have ignored him. If on the other hand the Livi guy mimicked Murray's voice and said "Nid's baw", that's genuine cheating  and we should sign him up immediately. We've not had a proper skilled cheat in our team for ages, and it holds us back in the SPL.

If preseason friendlies were anything to go by then Aston Villa a few years back would have been considered as European champions - IIRC they beat AC Millan in the preseason after they last won the champions league.

The "If you dinny wanty be here get tae France" routine which was being belted out at the start of the game wouldn't have exactly given the team much encouragement either I suppose; irrespective of the fact that it was directed towards CC.

I think you might be getting mixed up with me having a laugh about songs before the match kicked off when he was all alone in the dug out. It wasn't actually sung. Though he could hardly complain if it was.

Oops, thought the post about it that I glanced over earlier was being serious.

Sorry about that, my bad.

Mixed up indeed, I should have read more of the thread before venting my disapproval.

Again, my apologies.

First half was terrible, they battered us and we offered no reply.

2nd half we played well but were lacking a cutting edge!

Very impressed with Thornhill, Boothy, Sproule, Crawford and Taggert :agree:

Some on the comments on this thread are a joke and individuals need to give themselves a shake.

2 games into our pre-season and already players are getting written off.

Still think we need another 3 bodies in before the season starts (sadly the manager situation will put paid to that).

Would have loved to have seen EDG playing just behind GOC or Sodje but hey ho

Just watched the game on HTV and I have tio say we looked great in the 2nd half some really nice passages of play and the young un's were doing us proud, should have easily won the game IMHO.....................Which makes me laugh at some of the hysterics and absolute guff posted in this thread after the match

Had a slight knock ruling him out for last night, but he hopes to be fit for East Fife on Saturday, so you may get to see this happening yet....
