Fishing in Edinburgh

Was down the water of leith with my kid for a spot of fishing yesterday, but didn't catch a thing, no great surprise there, but what I did notice was I didn't see any sign of fish either, does anybody fish there and if so, have they caught anythng.

Would also be good to know if anybody fishes the union canal, or anywhere else central where they've had some joy recently.

I am told heron eat 2 kilos of fish a day. Give the number of heron about the WoL must have a fair few fish in it.

i seen a heron pull an eel out the water of leith before, but no idea whatsoever about fish. Thre's always folk fishing behind that modern art gallery though, towrds roseburn.
