I was lying in my bed down where I stay down the Shore, and I must have heard about 15 to 20 different sirens over a 10-15 minute period. Was doing my head in, inconsiderate gets :greengrin. Must have been a training exercise.

EEN Today : Cleaners taken to hospital after three collapse due to fumes.

THREE cleaners collapsed after being overcome by fumes at a yard on Leith's Imperial Docks.

The workers opened a chemical container in a block of toilets and began choking almost immediately.

Paramedics and fire crews rushed to the scene and removed them before they could breathe in any more fumes.

The men, aged 20, 55 and 64, have been taken to hospital with breathing problems, although they are not in a serious condition.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said their crews helped the men escape from the toilet block at the Bredero Shaw plant before removing the chemicals.

She said the substance involved was 10-15 per cent hydrochloric acid and had not been properly diluted.

The incident happened around 8.45am this morning and crews were still on the scene as of 11am.

i was at the meadows festival today and they had police and ambulance vehicles on display for the kids...for most of the day the sound of curious children pressing the siren button could be heard over the southside..
