That's really interesting.
And I've always suspected that the dock leaf thing was a con.:coffee:

Very intere...sting :cool2:

Dock leaves always work for me. Other leaves are OKish but the most effective is dock.

If the sting's like a fragile glass needle, why doesn't it sting when you grasp it firmly ?

You'd be lucky if it didn't sting you.

Interesting, even although he seemed like a bit of a nerd.

And dock leaves do work, I don't care what any nerdy scientist says.:grr:

I remember one day as a kid I was topless and wearing shorts whilst walking along the top of a large wall probably about 6ft high near my maws. I fell of fell into a humungus nettle patch. It made an indelible mark on my childhood. The only pain that surpassed it since was the day I stood on a bit of lego in my bare feet.:grr::grr::grr:

Gawd, you were tall as a kid Lex, how comes you've shrunk? :greengrin

Me and my wee brov and a mate used to hunt down wasp nests when younger in the local woods, we found one in a hole on a steep embankment, proceeded to try and take it out by squirting fairy liquid bottles full of water at it. My wee bruv made the mistake of standing above it and a few of the little critters got up his trouser legs and waged war on his John Thomas :agree: I swear to this day that it was him that invented break dancing :partyhibb

Wait 'til you stand on an upturned 13 amp socket in bare feet.
That'll eclipse any nettle or lego experience .

As a side note on the nettle/dock leaf issue. If you dig up a dock plant (?) you'll always find a grub very similar to a maggot but fatter known as the dock grub and fish love them. Always good to know if you find yourself in a survival type position and need bait to catch fish :agree:. It's also very handy to stick on the tail fly and kid the baileys on that you're still fly fishing.

I remember playing in the club championship qualifier some years ago, shot 78 so just got p****d, not worrying about the 2nd round the next day. Similar to Lex, on the way home, I stumbled and rolled arse over tit down an embankment full of nettles. The next day, I shot 68 and qualified.

Another time, I was over beside some nettles and hit an awful shot, by way of some hardcore self harm:greengrin, I ran my hand over some nettles (remembering my above encounter) and turned it all around, eventually shooting -1.

Come on the nettles:greengrin!!!
