My abiding memory of that night is Alan O'Brien tearing Alves a new one.

Should really have got its own bonus feature on the DVD, that. Sublime.

I remember Thicot coming on as a trialist and looking the real deal...

The reaction to that game was a joke when you look back at it. Folk were going mental that they'd taken 6 of us and saying how embarrassing it was. Think Barca went on to win the treble that season IIRC, and they're not that much changed now.

I think we did well to keep them to 6!!

If Barca had wanted 17 goals that night, they would have got 17 goals.

They've never been back in Scotland since playing us and Dundee Utd as Pep said there was no challenge for the players whatsoever.

Equally funny and tragic.

I thought they came primarily for the golf!

I was in a right huff after th 3rd went in, was thinking I dont care if it is the greatest team in the world with one of the world best players ever, even in a friendly I dont like to see us get humped. :faf:

Looking back on it now, I just feel lucky to have seen some of the best players in the world play Hibs

I remember turning to my son at half time and saying that Messi was the best player I had ever seen.

Don't think that is ever likely to change.

At least Paul Hanlon must have known that he was never likely to come against anything quite like that again.

Crazy wasn't it? My wee lad loved that game even though we got beat. Watching the final last night was him was even better when he could point out the guys who played against us that night and say he had seen them 'live.'
