If you don't like Yams finance threads look away now

Their latest accounts show that they're paying £377,000 rental as shown towards the bottom of this page........

http://admin.hydc.co.uk/page15.html

What on earth could they be renting that costs that sort of amount? It was only £86,000 the year before.

Could it be pink? Could it be rusty? Could buses stop at it?

Could it be anything else??

I'm sure all will become clear when one of them asks about it at their AGM :sofa:

could be renting a wing at saughton for all the sexual deviants, gun slingers and those in possession of drugs in their playing pool :dunno: there would still be enough room to house the bigots and wee airdrie jambo types in the stands as well :agree:

My guess is that £362,000 of it is on page 21, section 21 (http://admin.hydc.co.uk/page20.html) as land and building leases.

They own the PBS right? It doesn't look like they sold a building and are now renting it back.

I am sure i read somewhere that when they done the debt for equity last year, £10m which will be in next years accounts, that the pbs was the equity and now some company under UBIG owns the pbs.

Totally agree.

Not only are they flirting with bankrucy they are technically insolvent. They posted a profit of £39k whilst recieving a handout of £7.902,000. It has to be utter chaos there. Cant be anything else. It is now in doubt whether they still actually own their only assett.

I know there are people who will say they finished third but this is LAST season's accounts When they finished sixth. They recieved a further £10m DFE swap this season.

I am sorry but, to me at least, finishing third and 30 points behind the winner is not worth it.

Fair enough, give CC £35m to spend on signing players and wages and i'm pretty sure we would finish 3rd.

We have had a murder season right enough but i would never want our cluib to go down the fiscal lunacy/rodger the spineless fans/corrupt route that our lovely neighbours have. Their time will come to pay the piper.

I'd suggest that's because you don't fully understand their financial position.

HoMFC's owner is paying £7-8m every year just to keep them going. This has already cost him somewhere in excess of £60m half of which he will definitely never get back, while the other half depends on them returning to profitability. Nothing in their accounts this century suggests they can do so. That means that their continued existence (and I'm not talking about administration here) is 100% dependent on the continued benevolence of their owner whose £60m and rising "investment" has bought him an asset that's worth zip and a club that has won zip in the last five years.

Now I have a lot of respect for Sir Tom Farmer, but if Hibs were in that position with him I'd be mighty worried. Hearts are in that position with Vladimir Romanov. While it's quite amusing to see, I really can't blame them for always calling him Mr Romanov.

Too true, and what happens when Mr Romanov falls off the twig and mini-me the idiot son takes over .

I don't think he'll have forgiven the hat kickers for the insults and abuse he took in the past.

Bottom of page 25 of accounts. Hearts owe £345,000 to Kauno futbolo ir beisbolo klubas . In 2009 the debt was £722,000. Difference is £377,000.

The debt was for loan fees for players or lease rentals as noted in the accounts.

It looks like they still own the Bus Shelter in 2010. There is a note to say the directors estimate a capital gains tax bill of £766,000 would arise if the land assets were sold.

That's a strange one. It would be quite a coincidence if it wasn't connected in some way, but what we can tell from the Financial Commitments note (note 21) is that:
a) It's for land and buildings
b) It was not a commitment at the start of the year and
c) It's a non-cancellable commitment for more than five years.

The amount being paid means the land & buildings being rented must be worth a fair whack. Surprising that we haven't heard anything at all about it.

Could be. The 5+ year commitment suggests they're in no hurry to buy though. And in the meantime that's a lot of dead money.
