No pennies in the kitty for expensive European jaunts it seems.

I'd much rather any cash we had was spent on the team, rather than pre-season trips away.

They're just fitness exercises anyway, and I think the club are keen not to put the onus on any supporters to travel to expensive away trips given our current state, and that of the economy.

plus these teams are more likely to play in a similar fashion to the teams we will face throughout the season rather than dutch teams or glamour friendlies against barca etc.

there's a time and a place for glamour friendlies and when you've just built a new team and you are trying to get them performing as a coherent unit this isnt that time

Dutch tour last season was a waste of time-because we could not get the ball off the Dutch players to do anything.:flag:

Plenty of free weekends, I'm sure there will be more to come. Will also be interesting to see if we take up our right to postpone an early-season SPL game to take part in a tournament.

Do you know the venue of the tournament or is it being played at different grounds?

Better be an away trip to a prem or championship team in there. We need to play someone half decent.

I'd have thought the Sunderland game would be at ER unless it's a testimonial?

Because football in Scotland is kicking off early there are not many games available anywhere else.

Can't believe we'll play 2 games at 3pm on a Saturday. Surely 12:30 on a Sunday is the preferred time for football. Can't see me going to any of these games.

Think it was just the one ground.

I can't remember who the other team were as I was pretty pished when I was told. Another team from the north east.

Sounds good, probably a lower league English team I'd guess.

Thats exactly what it is.

CC said a few weeks ago that they were really struggling to find pre-season opposition hence why he used the last five games to do a bit of experimenting in competetive matches.

I would have liked to see Hibs play teams like Man Utd, Liverpool but that would see the team we have being well beat. I may go to one of these games but will depend on players we sign.
