If a player is unattached or is out of contract in the next couple of months then it starts now.

Can anybody tell me why it's called the Transfer WINDOW? Why isn't it the Transfer Door?

Another thing, with sponsorship so important in football, how come some company, like Everest for instance, haven't sponsored the 'Window' yet?

Might have something to do with "window of opportunity". Be better if it was door because you could give it a good old slam whereas how many people actually slam windows?
