I had a one delivered from a place at canongate, just as you go town towards the palace from the cowgate.

It was called Benn something!

Would order again.

Fryers delight at Gracemount was always great but it's not as good as it was.

Everyone always goes on about dino's at loanhead but I didn't find it particularly great.

Chippy in Gorgie across from White Park, The Gorgie Fry I think its called. The Clamshell at The Tron used to be good, a long time since my last visit tho!

So good i can't remember it's name but the one beside Swanny's in the Southside is tremendous. Best fish supper in the northern hemisphere.

Second to none.

I really don't rate it or understand what's special about it. I'd rather drive past to the St Johns or over to Ginos at Longstone.

Tony's. Been good for 30+ years. His son also runs the Pacific further down on mayfield road, also very good.

I bet none of the above mentioned chippys make to order apart from the tailend.

If you say there a better chippy you've obviously not been!

BBQ is class. I live closer to St Johns but tend to go further to go to bbq. St J's is also owned by a Yam - a nice one though mind you.

Dont know the name of it but the Chippy in Walter Scott Ave in The Inch has been in the same family for over 30years, magic chips and all the extra's, an old school chippy like they all used to be.

Alba D'Oro.

Thank you, and good night.

I used to swear by this place but have to agree with other posters and say that The Tailend is now the best. I had one after the last derby and the batter is out of this world. Unreal taste.

Honourable mention for Beni's in the Canongate, which usually gets my business at 2-3am in the morning.
