Haven't checked it but can't see it being far off the mark.

For me this again highlights the need to sign more attacking\creative midfielders. that for me should be the first priority.

well the good news is that it took Riordan 28 games to get his 11 goals while it only took Sodje 13 to get his 6 so the statistics say that Sodje is the better striker :dunno:

oh and De Graaf is coming back for next season so there is more goals in the team instantly....ya beauty

I'd say the defence is the priority, 61 goals conceded, THE worst in the spl.

Here are tables of GF and GA (Number before team represents league position):

GOALS FOR (Best-Worst):
01.Rangers - 88
02.Celtic - 85
04.Dundee Utd - 55
03.Hearts - 53
05.Kilmarnock - 53
07.Inverness CT - 52
06.Motherwell - 40
09.Aberdeen - 39
10.Hibernian - 39
11.St Mirren - 33
12.Hamilton - 24
08.St Johnstone - 23

GOALS AGAINST (Best-Worst):
02.Celtic - 22
01.Rangers - 29
08.St Johnstone - 43
07.Inverness CT - 44
03.Hearts - 45
04.Dundee Utd - 50
05.Kilmarnock - 55
11.St Mirren - 57
09.Aberdeen - 59
12.Hamilton - 59
06.Motherwell - 60
10.Hibernian - 61

Whilst we must improve on both, our defense needs priority - Every time we lose a goal the team seems to lose faith. Hopefully by improving our defense the spirit will improve, resulting in better play and some more goals.
We shouldn't be conceding such easy goals as we have this season. I feel we need an experienced CB to work with Hanlon to command the defense.

Motherwell had a reasonable season and only scored one more goal and conceded one less!!!!! Statistics eh.

Not a fair comparison since Motherwell were in the top six after the split.

I think it's a totally fair comparison. I think the point being made is that the number of goals for and against mean nothing when taken outside the context of matches e.g.,

Team A plays four matches (their score listed first):
a) 2-2
b) 2-2
c) 2-2
d) 2-2
8 for, 8 against and 4 points

Team B plays four matches (their score listed first):
a) 4-0
b) 1-8
c) 1-0
d) 2-0
8 for, 8 against and 9 points

All of that said, one thing I always remember is Hibs having a decent goal difference when compared to those teams around us. I don't know if my old mind is playing tricks on me, might be time to do some digging....

Hard to believe our players player of the season is at the centre of a defence that has shipped 61 goals this season! Its two cb we need !!!!
