Probably because both the BBC and STV studios are down near there now so for easy outdoor shots everything is either way along the clyde all the time.

Its weegie tv. Nothing more. When do you see any kind of stv/bbc drama or "Comedy" thats not set in weegiestan.
I never watch STV. The BBC Scotland news is slightly better but thats only for the lassie with the big knockers.

The Kingston Bridge.
To be fair I don't think the picture in the background is for aesthetic reasons. If they had a photo of glorious Highland vistas it would distract the viewer somewhat!

I always feel that Glasgow and the west is to Scotland what London and the south east is to England. Anywhere outside these areas is seen by the meedja as provincial. It would be easy for an ignorant foreigner to think that Glasgow is the capital of Scotland in fact.

Glasgow's Miles Better don't you know
So they kept telling us back in the 80's, and was it not "Culture City of the year" a couple of years ago...WTF!!

Gaurry Tank Commander seems to come from the East. I think they sent someone through to cover that wee festival thing we have here in August as well. I remember Liz Lochead and Bill Paterson doing a piece and telling everyone they'd be better off at Mayfest*.
* Arts festival designed to show that Glasgow was miles better at that sort of thing. Definitely not an attempt to steal Edinburgh's thunder, as it happened in May - 3 months before anyone really wants to go to an arts festival. Bless them.

That bridge is not the Kingtson Bridge by the way.

STV and BBC are both S****.
Both channels are an utter disgrace, who is Sky News :dunno:, when it comes to filming outside Glasgow, or indeed as the backdrop shows, any further than outside their window.
I cant help but get the feeling that unless the story is something greater than Armageddon, or perhaps OF related, the elastic band that attaches these ***** to their weegie seats wont stretch.
When Armageddon did meet the OF in Edinburgh recently the state of the news crews got in was a tad comical as they vied from prime camera positions. :faf:
