I think the club should just play HIBS songs only for Saturdays game. I also think that they should get the stadium announcer to announce that we are going to dedicate a Sunshine On Leith to Eddie Turnbull, and encourage everyone to raise their scarfs and gee everyone up saying something along the lines of ''Let's make Eddie proud and give the club legend the send off he deserves!'' I think it would be an epic moment to be part of, maybe even eclips the Cup Final SOL?!
The playlist for Saturday should be the following..

Turnbulls Tornadoes
Glory Glory To The Hibees
Hibernian (give us a goal)
Sea Of Green
Hibs Heros
We Are The Hibees
It's Good To Be A Hibee
Sunshine On Leith
500 Miles
I'm On My Way
Life With You
Joyful Kilmarnock Blues

I would add in a tune or two for the dandy dons.

Maybe the Northern Lights and the theme to Shaun the Sheep :greengrin

:agree: Agree!

Everyone singing along would be a great tribute to a legend :flag:

An e-mail to the club would hopefully seal the deal - anyone got the address?

Theme tune to All Creatures Great and small would be good. :greengrin

I think the best way to commemorate ET would be a few of the songs above linked together with inserts of clips of old radio commentaries such as Famous Five days winning leagues, Aberdeen beating Celtc in cup, Tornadoes famous wins. I also think the celebration, songs etc should also be at half time when you have the full crowd there and not just before the game where you could have a minute silence. How easy it would be to get these old radio commentaries I dont know.

That would be excellent. Someone should really get in touch with the club with these ideas. This man needs the best send off possible

Half time music should include the singles that were number 1 in the UK charts on the days that Eddie Turnbull won cups with both Hibernian and Aberdeen in the 70's. These are

Bridge Over Troubled Waters - 11 April 1970

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_a46WJ1viA

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppy Love - 5 August 1972

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMrcnqKSbw8

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My Ding-a-Ling - 9 December 1972

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MLBfwblps8

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome Home - 4 August 1973 (This was actually number 2 in the charts but the number 1 single that week was Gary Glitter so that's a definite no playing that tripe)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nostalgia eh. I remember singing all of those songs.

I initially thought an interesting thing for the game against Aberdeen would be to have the music that was top of the charts during the Turnbull's Tornadoes era, but after compiling a list, I'm not so sure....

Thought anyone??

5/8/72 Drybrough Cup Final – Puppy Love – Donny Osmond

9/12/72 League Cup Final – My Ding-a-Ling – Chuck Berry

1/1/73 that 0-7 game – Long Haired Lover From Liverpool – Little Jimmy Osmond

4/8/73 Drybrough Cup Final – I’m the Leader of the Gang (I Am) – Gary Glitter :rolleyes::rolleyes:

26/10/74 League Cup Final – Sad Sweet Dreamer – Sweet Sensation

12/5/79 Scottish Cup Final – Bright Eyes – Art Garfunkel

16/5/79 Scottish Cup Replay - Bright Eyes – Art Garfunkel
