Tonight's final (5.30pm start) is between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal and something's got to give.

Going into tonight, Nadal has won 36 straight matches on clay (1 of which was a walkover) and that run goes back almost two years since he was knocked out of the 2009 French Open.

Djokovic, meanwhile, has been in immense form in 2011, winning 32 consecutive matches since the start of this year (1 of which was a walkover).

It should be a fantastic match and although Nadal will probably be the slight favourite, given that it's on clay, my money would be on Djokovic extending this winning run.

Novak Djokovic continued his fantastic form by extending his winning start to 2011 to 32 matches by beating Rafael Nadal 7-5 6-4 and ending his 2 year unbeaten run on clay.

Djokovic has now won six titles out of the six tournaments that he has played in this season.

In fact, Djokovic's winning run is now actually 34 matches as he won his final two matches of 2010 as well and that is now the 9th best winning streak in tennis since the Open Era began in 1968.

He'll need to win his next two tournaments at the Rome Masters and the French Open if he's going to overtake the record, which is currently held by Guillermo Vilas, who won 46 consecutive matches in 1977.

It'll be difficult for Djokovic since Nadal's record in Rome and at the French Open is very impressive (he's only lost one match at both tournaments) but the way he's going, he will be very tough to beat.

Djokovic is a machine and fears absolutely no one, Wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if he wins the French Open.
