Who did Sauzee sign while he was manager? Lilian Martin, Jarkko Wiss, Kevin Nicol . . . anyone else?

I don't really care who he signed as a manager he was simply one of the best ever players that I've seen at ER:flag: A legend indeed:not worth:not worth

Eduardo Hurtado was lined up by McLeish to keep Ulises De la Cruz company in Scotland, but I don't think the deal was signed until McLeish left - not sure if Sauzee was actually in charge by then though.

I thought he signed Wiss, Nicol, Martin (although he didn't last much longer than Sauzee) and Gary Caldwell was signed on loan.

Sauzee signed Kevin Nicol, Jarkko Wiss, Lilian Martin and Gary Caldwell (on loan) for Hibs.

Eduardo Hurtado signed about a week before Sauzee took over.

Daquin was one of Williamson's first signings.

There is only one Sauzee and he was probably the classiest player I've ever seen wearing the green and that is how I choose to remember him.

Lillian was Franck's mate, Wiss was D.Park's recommendation as was Caldwell, Nicol was McLeish's recommendation.

I'm not sure that Sauzee had time to 'scout and source' anyone in his 70 ish days in charge.

I'm pretty sure he gave Deek his first professional contract, if that counts as signing. The one he was on until he went west.

As an aside, since he was a genuine legend, why has he never returned to the club ala Stanton etc for a half time appearance and the like ?

Janos Matyus (sp)?

Williamson signed him - was pretty good IIRC, was pretty disappointed when he left after a short term deal.

Nope. To the best of my knowledge not been in ER since the very good Sat afternoon May 2002 in the FF suites organised by the Franck Sauzee appreciation society.

Surely not? I seem to recall a midweek game (maybe against Dunfermiline) and he was hopeless - possibly the reason he didn't get a longer deal

I'm pretty sure he left despite being offered a deal, either because he didn't fancy the SPL or because we couldn't afford him. This was just as the belt tightening started and players were asked to take a substantial pay cut for an extra year on their contract.

Lilian Martin was, apparently, as hard as they come and was brought in by Franck to redress staff dynamics and increase communication between the manager and the dressing room, rather than play football.

Alledgedly of course. :cool2:
