Have there been any updates on him recently? Still having knee problems?

I thought that he was reinjured shortly after he returned in January.

He returned injured in Jan IIRC, but heard nothing since.

I can see him having too retire from pro football sooner rather than later, good player hampered badly by injury, since the cup win how many games has he played? exactly. shame.

Really, what have you based this assumption on???

Realism? I happen to agree with Lupo. He will find it increasing difficult to recover and establish himself - consequently he may well retire.

Looks like he doesn't think he has a future at Hibs.

Given his lengthy spells out injured that's no surprise.

Realism!!!

why would a young footballer who is fit to play football, but deemed not good enough by our current manager to play for Hibs retire from football???

Many professional footballer have suffered worse injuries and comebacks but continue to play competitive professional football, i see no different for Kevin.

Good luck wee man wherever you are playing your football.

I did like Kevin McCann, thought he was going to be really good in the long run for us. Unfortunatley the injuries have stopped him getting enough games to develop into the player I thought he could be.

Probably the right decision to let him go.

Good luck Kevin. Great lad and a dependable defender; how hart is apparently ahead of him i dont know but i trust CCs judgement.

Yes, he's solid, you wouldn't believe it with all his injuries but he is! I think Boothy and Towell will keep him out the team anyway.

On the other hand, Hart can go **** himself! Waste of wages. Might end up at Raith where the players from Edinburgh teams end up. Or they end up at the two Glasgow teams, but he's not good enough for them.

Because Hart is under contract until June 2012 and the club no longer pays out money to release players early from their contracts.

CC is stuck with him in the squad.

its a shame for Kevin, but no real surprise, I hope he stays fit and has a good career, many including me thought he was the natural successor to whittaker, bad luck with injuries have curtailed his progress, Good luck to him wherever he goes.

We'll see .. He will move on, and I doubt there's a long term deal out there for him. If the same injuries recur he'll have fewer and fewer options..
