I have just been thinking that a good way forward is by loaning players from BIG clubs as they are the ones wanting to be noticed by there clubs they are loaned out of. E.G the boy Ben Gordon that was loaned from Chelsea to Kilmarnock he was a great player and there are others in Championship from Chelsea e.g Borini has been class for Swansea and Sturridge for Bolton all have showed what they are made of in their loan spells. As players when theyknow they have secured a first team place in the SPL all have just settled back and got paid more than the players that are working hard week in week out e.g Booth tries so hard when playing and Riordan knows he will always get into the first team but otherwise it is sort of good as the youngsters can keep up their work until they get a pay rise so these are a few players i want to see in the summer.

You could only have one or two at the most loan signings we have to build our own team not develop players for other teams. Getting loan players all the time sends the wrong message to the current squad and could hold back our young players.

Not saying dont do it but be very careful.

I think that it's very unlikely any non of teams will ever get a loan player that the parent club are looking to develop for the prem. They'd send them to the championship. We'd get the next level down at best but will still be good players. Probably ones they'd be looking to let go at some point.

Wages are often the problem in that the "Big" club usually looks for a wack to be paid. Increasingly its getting more important that the "wee" club is run on the right lines and play in a certain way.

With that in mind, I'm surprised that we've not tried to get some players from Hearts.

You just want to give the stadium announcer a stroke don't you? :greengrin

I'm always caught in two minds about loanees. Grounds for example never really seemed too fussed about giving 100% week in week out. Towell on the other hand always puts in a shift.

Might be good to nurture the youth players, like we did with Riordan/Brown/Thomson et al and blood them, rather than not allowing the team to settle by constantly bringing in boys for short periods.
